Pike and shot was a historical infantry tactical formation that first appeared during the Italian Wars of the late 15th and early 16th centuries, and was used until the development of the bayonet in the late 17th century. This type of formation combined soldiers armed with pikes and soldiers armed with arquebuses and/or muskets.
The English Civil War (1642-1651) was a series of civil wars and political machinations between Parliamentarians ("Roundheads") and Royalists ("Cavaliers"), mainly over the manner of England's governance and issues of religious freedom. The war ended with Parliamentarian victory at the Battle of Worcester on 3 September 1651.

Reviews
United Bricks has once again delivered on another beautiful, well printed and finely detailed minifigure who will serve the King and cause to his last breath. Switch the sword for pike or musket to command these formations. Would make an excellent ensign or cavalryman as well. I highly recommend this minifigure for your minifigure army or collection. Thanks United Bricks for releasing this excellent minifigure.
The officer has nothing to be ashamed of compared to the arquebusiers, for the product is of excellent manufacture. United Bricks never misses the mark and has nothing left to prove; they possess a divine talent for creating delightful pieces. Colorful, magnificent—in other words, an exceptional product that easily adds to any collection about the English Civil War. I highly recommend it.
