British paratroopers in World War II were elite soldiers known for their resilience, discipline, and aggressive fighting style, earning them the nickname "Red Devils."  They were trained to be self-reliant and versatile, operating as both airborne specialists and regular infantry. They participated in major operations like D-Day (Operation Overlord) and Operation Market Garden (including the Battle of Arnhem), as well as operations in Norway, Sicily, and Italy. Their maroon berets, Denison smocks, and toggle rope were all synonymous with British paratroopers.
