The Grenadiers à Cheval de la Garde Impériale (Horse Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard) were the senior heavy cavalry regiment of Napoleon’s elite Old Guard. Nicknamed "The Giants" because of strict height requirements, they were widely considered one of the finest and most formidable heavy cavalry units in Europe.
