The Bataillon de Neuchâtel was a famous light infantry unit raised by Marshal Louis-Alexandre Berthier and Napoleon Bonaparte in 1807. Nicknamed "Les Canaris" for their vibrant yellow uniforms, they served across Europe before being decimated during the 1812 Russian campaign.
