In the 17th century the most common form of cavalry were known as harquebusiers, named after the harquebus (carbine). The "standard" harquebusier with lobster pot helmet, buff coat, breast and back armour is most closely associated with the Parliamentary army and, in particular, Oliver Cromwell and the New Model Army. However, harquebusiers fought on both sides of the English Civil War and were often differentiated by the colour of the sash that was frequently worn.

Reviews
Truly, a beautiful and incredible minifigure, not least because of its striking resemblance to its real-life counterpart. It's a bit pricey, but absolutely worth the cost for what it offers. The story of our fellow Englishmen is also captivating! I highly recommend buying this product; it's a beautiful piece.
I became interested in 17th-century cavalry
It came out just in time
The counterpart to the Royalist Cavalryman, Cromwell's Ironside looks stunning wearing his Tawny Orange Sash over his armour and wearing the traditional pot helmet. So much potential with this minifigure. A must for collectors. Highly recommend. Thanks again United Bricks for releasing this minifigure.
